The campus is home to the Mary Miller Smiser Heritage Library and Museum, Culp Building, and the 1838-1871 County Courthouse. The courthouse where the Old Drum Trial took place, has been carefully restored in its original location. In the trial’s closing arguments, George Graham Vest’s Eulogy of the Dog made the trial known around the world by serving as the inspiration for the phrase, Man’s Best Friend.

A 47.5-mile trail that stretches through the heart of west central Missouri. The trail is built on the former corridor of the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad.

**Opening day May 6, 2023; There will be a wide variety of LOCAL homegrown vegetables, fruits, flowers, & food plants for sale. Pasture-raised meats, eggs, baked sweets & bread, granola, and honey are also for sale at the market. The Farmers’ Market also has several artisan vendors who sell homemade soaps, crafts, pottery, cutting boards, stitch work, and jewelry. On some Saturdays, you'll find local musicians livening up Saturday morning markets with their talents.
